I’ve been painting almost all my life, as I didn’t stop when I left school. There were many years when I’d only do the odd sketch or painting as ‘real life’ took over, but I always wanted more. There’s nothing better that looking at what you’ve achieved and see it looking back at you. Knowing exhibition sales help with animal conservation is another bonus, but it’s equally exciting to get a pet portrait commission from someone, as it is to sell something in exhibition. A lot of my time is spent teaching art, mostly to retired people. Since then I’ve had a book published, I do demonstrations, run weekly classes, weekend workshops and I’ve just started to produce tuition videos too’. - Julie Nash
