In celebration of the Bloomingdale Trail’s 10th anniversary, we are curating a year-long poster series, with one poster released each month from June 2025 until May 2026. Each poster will be screen-printed in limited editions featuring new designs each month signed by our featured Chicago artists.
The series takes its inspiration from the many faces of the Bloomingdale Trail. There are endless ways people enjoy the trail, from walking and biking, to skating and birding, to picnicking, and even geocaching!
Starting in the ’90s, neighbors started going up on the embankment to explore, walk, create art, and even mountain bike— drawn in by the wild nature that was taking back the Bloomingdale rail line. People started creating their own paths through the area, thus literally laying the groundwork for a future Bloomingdale Trail with their feet. Through decades of community organizing and city planning, the Bloomingdale Trail became the trail we know and love today!
