"The definition of net worth is: the value of the assets (property & money) that a person or business has, after any debts are taken away. But, what if net worth was measured by more than a number in your bank account? What if quality time spent with family & friends, being present with your children, acts of kindness, being patient, being of service to others, making small daily sacrifices to accomplish a personal goal, following your passion & feeling joy were calculated into your net worth? What would your REAL net worth be? Sports brings people together of all generations, socioeconomic backgrounds, races & genders. The Chicago Bulls hold a special place in my family’s heart. Whether we’ve ordered in pizza to watch a playoff game on TV together, or when I had the opportunity to create a limited edition Bulls hat & brought my family to the game… the experiences bonded us & created incredible memories with the people I love the most, thus increasing my “net worth.” In this painting a small but important component of the game of basketball was isolated & used as a stencil; the net. The nets are sprayed with aerosol to create an abstract work of art that matches the elegance & sophistication of the game itself.
